An electric car is a car that uses electric motors instead of an internal combustion engine. In essence, these cars are rechargeable. They have battery packs that are charged, thus powering the vehicle. You can even convert your already owned car to an electric. There are also cars that utilize both battery power and fuel power. These are known as hybrids and are widely available.

ELECTRIC

Electric cars are not a new concept. Some of the first cars were electric. The improvement of battery storage helped the electric car to flourish. Many early electric cars hold speed and distance records. Don't worry about electric cars being slow. They are not, this was proved on the popular show Mythbusters. Some of these vehicles can achieve speeds of up to 135 mph, and on a single charge can reach the fuel equivalent of 135 mpg U.S.

The use of Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries makes electric cars capable of distances of up to 245 miles. This is a great improvement from early batteries that could get up to 100 miles on a single charge. In December, 2007, Fortune announced 11 new companies that will begin producing electric cars in the future.

There are several advantages to driving an electric car. It can save you thousands on fuel cost, and with our economy in the shape it's in, this is reason enough. Electric cars are also cleaner, helping the environment. It costs about to charge your electric car and gives you about 100 miles. Driving an electric car also makes you eligible for tax credits from the federal government for driving a car that hosts clean fuel.

It's not an expensive process to convert your car to electric. This can be achieved for about 0.00. With the process being cheap and all the money that you will save, an electric car is perfect for everyone. There are several resources available that tell you what types of tools you'll need, along with easy to follow instructions on how to convert your car to electric.

Among some of the first vehicles produced, electric cars are an economical solution to combat rising fuel costs. They are clean fueled vehicles which are good for the environment. You can get tax credits from the federal government for driving a clean fueled vehicle, and they save you money on rising fuel costs. They are not slow, and make perfect since when searching for an alternative!

Gas Fireplace Accessories

There are several distinct accessories and upgrades that can turn the look and feel of gas fireplaces. Do you have the natural gasfireplace or the propane gasfireplace? It is very important to know what type of fireplace you have before changing whatever that is involved with the working parts of that fireplace. What type of venting law do you have on the gas fireplace? It is important to know the venting if you are replacing items such as the gas logs.

electric fireplace lowes

Determine the type gas you have advent into the location. If you are placed in a larger city, chances are the natural gas law is in place. Most of the larger cities have a very large network of gas pipelines ran straight through out the city. This is sort of like the cable or water bill that you receive monthly. The monthly fee is based on how much natural gas you consume which will depend on how often and how long the natural fireplaces are used everyday.

ELECTRIC FIREPLACE LOWES

If you are placed outside of a larger city, it may be primary for you to use the propane as fireplace. The propane enterprise will deliver a large storage tank that is left at the location. If you are worried about the appearance of the tank, some of them can be buried inexpressive with just the top of the tank exposed so it can be refilled.. This tank will then be connected to the location of the gas fireplace. As the propane is used, the propane enterprise will then come and refill the storage tank. How often refills are needed is determined by the size of the tank and how the propane is consumed on a daily basis.

The type of venting law will also need to be known before some of the internal working parts of the gas fireplace can be exchanged or upgraded. Transfer of the glass doors will be determined by the venting system. The gas fireplaces direct vent operates with the doors closed. But the ventless gas fireplace will operate with the doors open.

There are several distinct accessories that will improve the look and feel of any fireplace. If you have a gas fireplace the addition of the fireplace tools and a fireplace wood holder will add to the ambiance of the fireplace that we all long for. Items like the fireplace hearth rug and the other slight knick knacks will help. If for some fancy you do not know or you are unsure of the type of gas or venting system, call your local gas company. They will come to your location and help conclude what you have.

But if you are not in a position to go for a new electric scooter, a used one is still an alternative. The Internet is great place for this. Look for big stores such as amazon.com or even local classified ads in the newspapers.

Another nice option is to ask for one in the newspapers. Most daily newspapers have a classified section, where you can place an ad under the "wanted section" with the amount you would like to spend on such an electric scooter. You can even mention more details about it's scooter or who is going to use it. You will be surprised to see some good response.

There are certain points to look fro before you finally purchase a used one though. See for any damages and always ask for a test ride. Taking a ride will give you a feel of the ride and it's ease in handling. Also look for guarantees, any repaired or replaces spare parts. How much the original owner spent on servicing of the vehicle. Also ask the seller why he/she wants to sell it in the first place.

Purchasing a used electric scooter is a great way to save money because the running cot is till very small. If you have decide to buy a used electric scooter from the Internet, make sure that you buy it from a secured and reputed website with good online presence (such as amazon.com)

Energy Efficient Electric Heaters

When purchasing an electric heater for either your home or your garage you are looking for a way to heat the area in the most energy efficient way possible. If you need an electric heater you are probably looking to heat or warm a specific area of your home and by doing so you are already becoming more energy efficient.

electric grill

This is true because using a portable type of electric heater gives you the ability to raise the thermostat on your home's main energy sources such as central heating. Because with a central heating system you are heating the entire home and not just the rooms you and your family are occupying. So even by raising the thermostat 3 or 4 degrees can make a huge impact on your overall energy use and consumption.

ELECTRIC

By implementing an electric heater you can move the heater as you leave or enter a specific room. So how do you make sure that an electric heater you use in your home or garage is energy efficient? Start by finding the correct size heater for the specific room you will be heating. For example if you are going to use an electric garage heater there is no need to purchase a heater that will heat 900 square feet if your garage is only 500 square feet. More is not better in this particular case it is just a waste.

Next take a look at what type of features the heater offers. Many of the newer models offer either a built in thermostat or a programmable thermostat. This will help you to maintain a comfortable temperature by alleviating any fluctuation of temperature in the room. A feature like this can also help you to turn off the heater when it is not in use by setting a specific time for the heater to turn off.

This can be an especially useful feature in electric garage heaters as often times we may forget that they are running and may run unnecessarily. Another thing to consider when making your purchase is how the heated air is circulated throughout the room. Once the air has been heated it is important that it be effectively distributed in the room so look for a heater that has a built in fan that helps distributes the air properly. Even distribution alleviates some of the problems associated with older models that gave the rooms hot and cold spots.

One thing you should also know about energy efficient electric heaters is that almost every manufacturer has now take the time to build in several types of safety features. Almost all of them incorporate some sort of automatic shut off system if the heater should actually be knocked over and some, if not most, also have an overheating shut off which will turn the heater off it is blocked or just overheating from non recommended continuous usage.

Solar Power and Your Electric Company - Electricity Buy-Back Programs

One of the biggest advantages of a solar-powered home is called "net-metering." This is where you sell a portion of the electricity you produce to your local electric company. Your electric company then credits your account and may even cut you a check if they use over the amount you owe in your account. Every electric company has different rules and rates at which they sell electricity back. You have to check your local company to see what they can offer you as a home solar power system owner.

New Mexico has one of the friendliest solar power companies out there: PNM. PNM offers customers who have solar power

Pacific Gas and Electric has over 25,000 solar homes and businesses connected to their energy grid. They have an entire program dedicated to finding solar power installers and providers for their Northern and Southern California customers. Their program is a part of the California Solar Initiative which delivers financial incentives to small business and residential homeowners with solar power systems. Their program even helps owners pay for their new solar systems with the California Solar Incentives, given to the customer prior to purchasing.

Austin Energy offers a rebate program for customers who sell back their electricity from their solar systems. Austin Energy also has loan programs for homes who want solar now without paying out of pocket. In Arizona, the Arizona Public Service utilities allow homeowners to sell back their solar electricity as well for a sizeable credit.

No matter where you live, you will need to do some considerable homework to discover what incentives you can get from your residential solar power system. The DSIRE has a state-by-state database that tells you where to find the best deals. You can also go to your electric company's website to see if they offer any programs not listed with DSIRE.

When installing your solar power system, you will have to follow some local rules with your electric company. First, you will have to apply for a permit to add solar panels to your home. Second, you will have to apply be added as a net-metering location in your electric company's grid. This application process isn't particularly hard, but it must be started before the installation. After installing, your electric company will come out and assess whether or not your system is safe to add to their grid. This is essential for their worker's safety. If your system isn't properly connected, your solar system can actually pump electricity into dead wires during electrical maintenance. This could injure or even kill an unsuspecting worker.

Once you're in the net-metering "club" you can look forward to a monthly credit to your electric bill. Some months you may even receive a check! Also, you have the peace of mind knowing your solar energy is helping your community become cleaner and healthier.

No Deposit Texas Electric Service

A few electricity providers offer some alternative ways for low or no credit Texas energy consumers to have their electric service turned on without having to fork over the equivalent of 1 months rent for many of these Texas electricity customers. You will hear three different options when it comes to low or no deposit electric service. These options are post paid, no deposit guaranteed, and prepaid electricity service. The post paid energy service is what most people have. You simply are billed for the electricity service you used the previous month and you pay that amount. The problem is if you have bad credit most electricity companies in Texas are going to want a deposit.

electric guitar

Post paid electricity service is the ideal situation because you get billed for your usage after you have used it and you pay on the designated due date. This gives you time to read your bill and study how much energy you have used. You can then pay your bill online or by mail and maybe work on using less next month. The post paid electric service plans are usually cheaper then prepaid electric service. Many post paid plans available are fixed rates. These rates have been locked in for a 6 month, 1 year or 2 year electricity price. When signing up on a fixed rate you know exactly what you will be charged for electric service each and every month because the price does not change. The problem with trying to get on a fixed rate on a post paid service is that most providers will need a deposit if you have no credit or just bad credit. Many consumers have to skip this choice because the deposit amount is way outside what they can afford to pay.

ELECTRIC

There is another Texas electricity service choice called prepaid electricity. This type of service requires the Texas electric provider to come out to your home or apartment premises and install their own meter. This electricity meter allows you to prepay for electric service in advance. The main issue with prepaid electricity service in Texas is that many customers have complained that their electric service was cut off prematurely for being a little late on prepaying for their service. The Texas government requires that Texas electricity companies give the energy consumer fair warning before turning off their electric service but many consumers have complained that this is not what happens. The PUCT is supposed to fine the energy companies that break the rules but many consumers do not file the appropriate evidence that proves to the state that the Texas electricity company is not following the consumer protection laws. It is up to the consumer that was wronged to call the Public Utility Commission of Texas and explain what the Texas energy company has done to them in order for the state to take appropriate action.

The final Texas electricity service choice for low income or no credit customers is the no deposit guaranteed option. For those Texas energy consumers that have had their credit dinged by some late payments or a credit card that was charged off there is still an option for them. The no deposit guaranteed choice requires that the Texas energy consumer have a valid credit card. As long as a valid credit card is available there is a second chance for someone who needs to get Texas electric service turned on right away without having to worry about how they are going to come up with 0 - 00 for a deposit. The way the no deposit plan works is the consumer pays a slightly higher electricity service rate the first 3 months they are with the no deposit Texas electric company. After the customer has paid on time the first 3 months the electric company will proactively lower the energy price to the lowest available electric rate they offer in Texas. This gives the no credit or bad credit customer a second chance of reestablishing themselves as a responsible customer who pays their bill on time. Instead of penalizing the customer for their mistakes in the past this company rewards the customer provided they pay their bill on time the first 3 months.

When choosing between post paid, prepaid and no deposit guaranteed electricity service in Texas there are only a few things to consider. The decision is a no-brainer for most people in a bad or no credit situation because most people want as little headache with their energy company as possible while still being given the chance to sign up for affordable energy service. Prepaid electricity is not the right choice for most people because the rate is usually much higher then other electric companies and the track record of these energy companies turning off electric service prematurely is pretty high. Post paid electricity service is not an option for most bad credit risk customers because they would have to come up with a very high deposit amount just to get electric service turned on in their name. No deposit guaranteed Texas electricity service becomes the best option for someone looking to sign up and order electric service in their name and completely avoid the high deposit scenario. The electricity service gets turned on fast and the headaches associated with shopping for an electric provider that will not charge a deposit are over. No Deposit Texas Electricity service is considered post paid electricity but without the need for a deposit. For most bad or no credit customers in Texas this represents the best possible option until their credit improves. Since a valid credit card is required some bad credit customers who do not have a credit card must sign up on a prepaid electric service plan because there are no other options then this if the customers credit is bad, they have no credit card, and they cannot afford to pay a deposit.

Energy Efficient Ranges and Cooktops - Which to Buy - Induction, Gas, Or Electric?

When you turn on an electric or gas burner, a good deal of the heat does not go to the pan, but into the air. If you open the oven door, the heat rushes out of the oven and into the air and the oven has to reheat. When you turn off an electric burner, even though the the power is off, heat is still given off and is considered to be wasted. So by strict definition of "energy efficiency" one of the most used appliances in your home just doesn't measure up.

electric grill

Even though cooktops and ranges do not earn the Energy Star rating under today's standards, there are some products that are more efficient than others.

ELECTRIC

I am in the market for a new kitchen stove and began the research to find the most energy efficient product that fit into my budget. With the tax credits available for Energy Star appliances, I asked if there were any Energy Star rated stoves (ranges if you will). The answer is, no. Why? Very simply, because energy efficiency is measured on how much energy it takes to perform a particular function compared to how much energy is lost or wasted by that same process.

Solar Powered

There are some small solar powered stoves and hybrid solar (solar with electric backup) for those days when the sun doesn't shine on the market today. Most of the specifications indicate a minimal temperature range and have very limited capacity. The largest capacity I found measured 21.25 inches square by 7.78 inches deep. If you are looking to experiment with solar cooking, there are any number of plans on the internet to build your own solar stove using materials found around your home. However, the solar solution may not be the most practical for a busy family. For now, being somewhat of a pragmatist, I've focused my search and the following article on the more practical options for today's busy family.

Induction/Electromagnetic

The new induction cooktops and ranges are the most efficient on the market tody. Induction cooking surface, when turned on and a metal pan is on the cooking element, produce an electrical current in the cooktop which creates a magnetic field that causes the pan to heat and cook your food. It's like magic. Even if the burner is turned on, when the pan is not touching the surface, you could lay your hand on the element. It's instant on and off. I've actually done this and was quite amazed. There is no heat loss when you remove the pan, which makes the induction cooktop more efficient than other cooking surfaces. The pans must have flat bottoms and be made of metal or the electromagnetic heating process won't work.

Most major appliance manufacturers offer an induction cooktop (no oven). If you are trying to replace an all-in-one cooktop and oven, there are several manufactures: Samsung, Kenmore, Viking, GE, and Diva. The oven component is typically electric with a convection option. Like most new technologies, the induction cooking appliances are still expensive. However, over the past year, prices have dropped.

Natural Gas or Propane vs Electric

If an expensive cooktop or range is not in your plan, there are other options. Based on current natural gas prices, natural gas, is still slightly cheaper to operate than an electric cooktop.. So, if you're investigating appliances based on cost of operation, you'll want to investigate average prices of electricity vs natural gas in your area. (Be aware that the proposed energy legislation will affect the cost of any fossil based fuel and prices will go up for both natural gas and electricity. How much they will rise is not yet known.) Overall, the savings of gas over electric has historically been minimal and amounts to less than a year in savings. If you are a cook that prefers gas, there are many options from which to choose. Many of the most popular brands are carried by Lowes, Home Depot and Sears.

Energy Efficient Ranges and Cooktops - Which to Buy - Induction, Gas, or Electric

The most energy efficient cooking solution would be an induction cook top with an electric/convection oven, followed by a gas cooktop with an electric/convection oven. Convection ovens are a little more expensive than an electric or gas only oven, but they require less cooking time, so you are using less energy and reducing your time in the kitchen. For the busy family, less time is a real plus. All in one gas or electric units are the cheapest solution, but not the most energy efficient. The differences in operating costs depend greatly on the utility prices in your area. However, the cost difference, based on the national average of gas vs electricity, is only a few cents, with natural gas being the cheaper.

Price Comparison

So, if you're in the market for a new range or cooktop and your primary objective is saving energy, go for an induction cooktop with an electric/convection oven. For that system, budget between 00 for a fully featured system and 00 for a whiz bang designer, professional grade system.

If natural gas or propane is available in your area, the next best combo would be a gas cook top and an electric/convection oven. Prices vary considerably, ranging from under 00 for a basic model to the mid-range of 00 -00 for a full featured stainless steel unit. If you have even a higher budget, there are some magnificent options for the person who really enjoys cooking ranging in price between 00 and ,000.

If the electric option is all you have, don't despair. Remember that the differences in energy consumption and energy cost between the gas or electric options are not that significant. By going the extra step and purchasing an electric cook top with an electric/convection oven, you will be reducing oven cooking time and, thus, energy consumption. Any reduction in energy consumption is a positive and will produce some cost savings. Prices for these units vary from 00 to 00 for fully featured stainless steel units. These are available from most appliance manufacturers. If your budget is less than 00, check out prices on the internet. There are good deals to be found on this type of stove. If I'm still talking above your budget, "all electric" or "all gas" ranges vary in price from 8 to 00. Keep in mind that the very low end products will not typically be self-cleaning, nor will they have the insulation to keep the heat inside the oven when cooking, nor will the temperature control of the oven be very precise.

While cooking units are not energy efficient according to the standards set by Energy Star. Since there are not significant differences in energy cost among the options, it boils down to budget, cooking style, and availability of natural gas/propane. I've given you some things to think about when purchasing that new stove and, hopefully, you found them useful.

Electric Tankless Water Heaters - The Shocking Truth

I have recently been doing some pretty intense research into Electric Tankless Water Heaters.  I did a 2 part series about Tankless Water Heaters in general a while back, but I didn't talk much about Electric tankless except to say that they don't seem to make much sense.

electric lawn mower

Well, at the risk of making all the Electric tankless manufacturers mad, what I found out in my research just confirmed that they really don't make much sense.  I just have more information now as to why not.  Since tankless water heaters are being marketed so heavily right now, I wanted to give you the bottom line on what the marketing may not tell you.  Then at least you will be able to make an informed decision if you are considering tankless.

ELECTRIC

Tankless Basics

First of all, it is important to understand the basic operation of a tankless water heater.  All tankless heaters, whether electric or gas, use the same basic process to heat water.

1)When a hot water faucet is opened this causes water to flow through the tankless unit.

2) When the volume of flow is enough to trigger the unit to come on it begins heating water.

3)The amount of water that the heater allows to flow through is regulated by the desired outlet temperature.

4)This is, in turn, affected by the temperature of the incoming water.  The colder the incoming water the more heat the heater has to create.

Temperature Rise and Gallons Per Minute

That's why the performance of tankless water heaters is measured by how many gallons per minute (GPM) the heater will deliver at a desired Temperature Rise.  The greater the desired Temperature Rise, the less Gallons per Minute of hot water can be produced.

How many GPM a tankless heater can deliver is entirely dependent on how much energy (either electric or gas) the unit has available to heat the water.  If you want more hot water you have to use more energy.  In a gas tankless this means more BTUs.  In an electric tankless this means more kilowatts, which also means a bigger amperage draw.  There is no way to get around this, it's just the way it is.

Electric vs. Gas

Since we are talking  about electric tankless, the only thing I will say about gas models is that they almost always have better performance than electric models.  The "largest" electric tankless heaters can't match the output of a "standard" gas tankless unit.  For the record, "regular", tank type water heaters have the same differences.  Gas units just heat water faster than electric, tankless or otherwise.

How Much Hot Water Is Enough?

Now that you know the basic concepts, here's why I don't think an electric tankless is a good idea:

The largest unit I could find is only capable of delivering around 5 GPM (gallons per minute) at a modest 50° temperature rise.  At a 60° rise this drops to 4.3 GPM.  By the way, the only people I know who recommend using a 50° temperature rise when sizing a heater are the tankless manufacturers themselves.  Every plumber I know uses 60° as a minimum, real world figure.  Another thing to keep in mind: the Plumbing Code requires "hot water" to all fixtures for "bathing, washing, culinary purposes...etc.  The Code defines "hot water" as "greater than or equal to 110° F".

OK, if all of these numbers are making your head hurt here's the bottom line.  A standard shower head uses at least 2.5 GPM (gallons per minute).  The biggest residential electric tankless can deliver less than 5 GPM at a realistic temperature rise.  That means if two shower heads are running at once they will have less than full flow.  Since one of the most common complaints I hear is that the showers don't have enough pressure already, this is just a recipe for dissatisfaction.

But that's not all.  This lackluster performance comes with a price.

How Much Electricity Is Enough?

Electric tankless water heaters require an enormous amount of electricity as compared to any other equipment in the home.  The largest models require a whopping 160 amps. With most new homes having a 200 amp electrical service, that's 80% of the total electrical capacity of the home.  Many older homes don't even have a large enough electrical service to power the tankless, much less the rest of the house.

In case you think I'm just ranting, I'm not alone.  Electric Utilities hate electric tankless water heaters.  Since they make money selling electricity you would think they would love them.  It seems that they use so much power that they can overload the system.  Check out this excerpt from one power company's website on tankless:

"o  The new load of a tankless water heater can sometimes equal the load of an entire new home!

o  ...if a customer installs a tankless water heater, the increased electric demand may exceed the design specifications of the system and require an upgrade of the cable and transformer. ... will be charged directly to the customer. & If a customer installs a tankless water heater, the customer is required by approved tariff in both the Carolinas and Florida to pay the full cost to upgrade their facilities (including cable and transformer) to meet the need.

o  Customers complaining about a voltage fluctuation or flickering lights may be seeing the impact of a tankless water heater in their neighborhood. It is important to note that this voltage fluctuation may be noticed by other customers in addition to the customer with the tankless water heater - since several customers often share a single transformer. An investigation of all customers on the transformer may be necessary to determine the source of the problem.   If voltage problems exist because of a tankless water heater and a facility upgrade is necessary, the customer with the tankless water heater is required to pay the full cost to upgrade prior to construction."

I don't know if this is actually enforced but it is pretty plain to see that this Power Company is definitely trying to discourage the use of electric tankless water heaters.

Look, I do not have an axe to grind against the electric tankless industry.  There are even a few situations where a small electric tankless might make sense.  I just don't think they are a good choice for a whole house water heater.  I also want to make sure that you can count on me to give you the real, no hype truth.  And, in this case,  I think electric tankless water heaters are a bad choice in most cases.

Radiant heaters work like the sun by warming people and objects. Radiant heaters without fans are not designed to heat an entire room, but excel at providing instant heat for one or two people.

ELECTRIC

Two examples of radiant heaters without fans are radiant heat panels and parabolic heaters. Radiant heat panels are constructed with the heating element embedded in the panel. By virtue of their simplicity, they are safe, reliable and maintenance free.

The Presto Parabolic Heat Dish is a cost effective choice for workshops or garages when you want to heat just you and not the entire building. The Cozy Legs radiant heat panel, with only 100 watts of heat output is by no means a whole room heater, but performs admirably when installed under a desk or hung on the wall to warm a bird cage.

The next four categories of radiant heaters are equipped with fans to provide whole room heat.

Quartz Infrared Heaters
Quartz infrared heaters can cost as little as , or as much as 0 for the SunTwin or EdenPure heaters. The SunTwin brand features copper heat exchangers for consistent, non drying heat; a child and pet friendly cool to the touch exterior, fan assisted heat for larger spaces, and a lifetime washable filter.

The less expensive Marvin 1500 watt quartz heater uses replaceable quartz tubes in front of a reflector and a fan to project whole room heat. Quartz heating elements reduce positive ions in the air and consume very little oxygen. Reviews say this heater works extremely well. The security locked grill swings out for easy quartz tube replacement. Replacement tubes are readily available for .99 each.

Ceramic Heaters

Ceramic heaters come in a wide variety of models: fixed, tower, oscillating and pedestal. One of the most popular and inexpensive of these is the Honeywell HZ-315. Weighing in at only 3.3 pounds, it's the mighty mite of space heaters capable of quickly heating small to mid-sized rooms.

A specialized version of the ceramic heater is the remote controlled Soleus Air MS-20A. The cool to the touch exterior, even heat, and wall mounting feature make it a favorite for nurseries.

Electric Fireplaces
What are they? Expensive space heaters or a piece of furniture that also keeps you warm? Definitely a piece of furniture. If you went crazy and spent 00 on an electric fireplace (they're out there), it still won't heat your room any better than the 9 model.

Electric Stoves
Similar to the electric fireplace, an electric stove is a radiant, fan assisted space heater installed in a decorative housing. The most popular model by far with consumers is the Dimplex CS3311 compact electric stove.

Many types and configurations of awnings and canopy structures are available in the market today. Retractable awnings that enlarge from the roof or face of the construction contribute weatherproof cover at doors and entryways and are typically made of canvas or vinyl. Similar awnings are also used to cover windows, storefront, or patios. Door and window awnings are available in some styles and sizes to adapt distinct configurations. Newest door and window awnings concentrate a ?roll up? design, allowing easy hand-operated retraction of the awning. Many clubs produce door and window awnings in kit forms. A wide choice of distinct shades of high capability marine weave fabric is also available. These awning kits are quite easy to assemble and regularly come with the needful factory hardware and detailed instructions. The awning frames are made of extruded aluminum sections and offer a wide collection of shapes and sizes.

Metal awnings are regularly enduringly installed at the doors and windows of the house. The awnings allow opening, closing, and cleaning of the windows, while protecting window and door buildings from the elements. They are regularly bolted into the walls and calked around the wall interface to prevent water leakage. They are ordinarily not removed from their fixed locations unless requiring transfer or repair. Copper or steel door and window awnings enhance the appearance of the construction or the establishment while simultaneously protecting the buildings against sun and rain. High capability door and window awnings can be convention made from multi-ribbed steel or copper sheets. Awnings safe the buildings and inside furnishings and also add style and class to the construction itself.

If properly taken care of, stationary door awnings can contribute years of undiminished maintenance-free service. When buying fabric awnings for home usage, it is best to make sure that they are most favorable for the local climate.

Whole House Air Cleaners narrative - Why They Do Not Work!

As you hunt for that exquisite air cleaner to safe your family from dust, pet dander and other airborne allergens, you will run across many dissimilar types of air cleaners, air purifiers, air filters and air filtration systems. One of the most provocative and eye catching products on the shop is the Whole House Hepa Air Cleaner Filtration System. This article also includes Whole House Air Filters and Whole House Air Purifiers. There are many of them on the market! Unfortunately human nature often kicks into high gear when the marvelous offer of a central whole house air cleaner is advertised as a way of holding your entire house clean with just one singular gizmo! The Fact Is These Air Air Cleaning Machines Just Can'T Clean A Whole House!   There are five types of air cleaning products that are advertised to clean a whole house. They are: Hepa air filtration bypass air cleaners  Electronic air cleaners Self-Charging electrostatic air filters Ultraviolet light systems transportable ozone-ionizer air purifiers This article will explicate the truth about how each of these products literally control and what benefits they literally do contribute for you. Also included are the permissible steps to take for a clean indoor air environment.

electric fireplace lowes

Myth #1. Whole house Hepa air cleaner / bypass systems - These somewhat high-priced systems are flawed in fabricate from the beginning. The idea behind these units is to pull a quantum of the air stream from the return side of your furnace or air conditioning system, clean it and then return it into the contribute side of the furnace or air conditioning systems ductwork. Most of the time, it involves taking up to 30% of the air from the return ductwork. The air is then cleaned with a high efficiency filter such as a Hepa and/or carbon filter. The cleaned air is then returned into the contribute ductwork of the air handling theory (bypassing" the air handler unit). Such an air cleaning theory under this fabricate poses many areas of failure. First of all, you are assuming that the majority of the airborne contaminants in your living space are drawn into the heating and or cooling system.

ELECTRIC FIREPLACE LOWES

However, home heating/air conditioning systems are designed to heat and cool. They are not designed to pull dust, dander and allergens into a Hepa air cleaner from the narrow return ductwork at far distances. Note that the great majority of homes have only one air return per air conditioning system. So without having a means of returning the air from each and every room to the air handler, the thorough effectiveness of these Hepa air cleaner systems is nullified. This is because the majority of rooms will not be able to have dirty air pulled from them. So the "whole house" air cleaner will only be able to clean the dirty air that makes it into the return side of the ductwork. This is a very dinky amount! Secondly, in order for the Hepa air cleaner to work at all, the fan for the Hepa cleaner and the fan for the air handler unit must run all of the time.

This Means High Electric Bills! Having both blower units running permanently uses significantly more electricity than transportable systems placed in individual rooms. Lastly, and more importantly, even in an ideal world where the air from all over the house is production it back into the return duct work through many air returns, a bypass theory is only cleaning up to 30% of the return air because it is only receiving up to 30% of the return air. This means, even if the Hepa air cleaner unit is running at 100% efficiency for all contaminants, only 30% of the entire air going through the return duct work is literally being cleaned. Therefore, when you look at the theory as a whole, it is only 30% efficient. Plus the entire air return duct work from the air vents in the rooms to the Hepa air cleaner theory will come to be filthy because the air entering into the return duct work is not being filtered! Also these whole house cleaning systems want high-priced pre-filter replacements to safe the even more high-priced Hepa filter! The lowest line here is that Central Hepa filtered types that setup into air conditioning / furnace systems cannot properly clean the air in an entire house or building!

Myth #2. Whole house electronic cleaner systems (Also Called Electrostatic precipitators) - Electronic systems are made to fit into the air return side of the central air conditioning theory or furnace. They can only filter the air that is brought into them from the air return duct or area that leads to the electronic  cleaner unit. These units use electrically charged metal or fiber cells that attract dust particles onto them. Unfortunately this old technology is outdated and it does not work well! This is because after a light number of dust covers the outside of the charged cell grid, the rest of the incoming dust and allergens will pass right through the air cleaner and back into the indoor environment for people to breathe! Also, Central Electronic Cleaners with charged assembler Cell Grids yield Non-Adjustable Levels of Ozone! This can be an irritant to people with asthma and lung problems! Since most homes and structure have only one central air return per theory or zone, these electronic cleaners cannot pull dirty air from rooms or areas that are more then a few feet away from the air return that is attached to or foremost to the electronic air cleaner. Major clubs that yield these electronic cleaners are Honeywell, Trion and Aprilaire. There Is No Way that central electronic cleaners can pull the dirty air from across the house or from the inside of bedrooms and or offices that are away from the central air return area in your home or building! They Are Not Whole House Air Cleaners!

Myth #3. Whole house self-charging electrostatic air filters. These air filters are custom made to size to replace your existing throw away air filters in your furnace or central air conditioning systems air handler unit or air return. They are made from many layers of poly propylene fiber which allow them to come to be electrically charged when air flows through them. They can then grab dust and allergens onto them like a magnet. These air filters are durable, washable, reasonably priced and they can last for many years. They are marvelous for holding your air conditioning or heating theory and ductwork clean as they can catch and remove very small particles of dust and allergens from the air in your home or building! However, just like the less sufficient throw away filters, self charging electrostatic air filters can only clean the air from the air handler unit or from the air return area they are operating from! Self-charging electrostatic air filters cannot pull the dirty air from across the house or from the inside of bedrooms and or offices that are away from the central air return area in your home or building! They Are Not Whole House Air Filters!

Myth #4. Whole house ultra-violet (Uv) light systems for central air conditioning units - These ultra-violet light systems are installed into air conditioning systems to kill mold and bacteria. They do not remove dust, particulates or airborne allergens from the A/C system, air ducts or from the indoor environment! These units are supposed to be installed so the ultra-violet lights are shining onto the evaporator coil on the air return intake side to prevent mold and bacteria growth on the evaporator coil and surrounding area, yet many of these units are installed improperly into areas of the air handler or air plenum where they can not do much good. Beware of Uv light systems that yield ozone! Many of these Uv light systems yield ozone at levels that cannot be controlled! Too much ozone can be an irritant to people with asthma and lung problems! I have experienced ozone producing Uv light systems that created so much ozone it burned my eyes and throat.

And I do not have asthma or any lung problems at all! Some of these units are also produced with non-ozone producing Uv bulbs. However please note, if an air conditioning theory is clean and installed properly and it has a high quality self charging electrostatic or pleated air filter in it to safe the air handler and evaporator coil from dust, the chance of the evaporator coil and the rest of the theory becoming contaminated with dirt, mold and bacteria will be greatly reduced. We propose properly cleaning your air conditioning theory and duct work while installing an upgraded quality air filter instead of an ultra-violet light system. Please know that ultra-violet Light units for your air conditioning theory are not whole house air cleaners even though people will claim that they will keep your entire home clean!

Myth# 5. Whole house transportable ozone ionizer air purifiers - Some air purifiers comprise both needle point and radio wave ionizers that can ionize the air in mutable rooms in your home or building. These units yield negative ions that are sent into the air. Negative ions work by attaching themselves to small floating particles in your indoor air forcing the particles to fast drop out of suspension and then down to the ground or onto any outside below. These purifiers will drop smoke, dust, pollen and animal dander from the floating indoor air environment and down to the outside below to be vacuumed. However if your bedroom is in the area being ionized, floating particles including allergens can drop onto you while sleeping in bed. This can cause problems for those with allergies and asthma. Some of these machines also yield adjustable levels of ozone.

Ozone is that fresh smell that occurs after a thunderstorm when lightning cuts through the oxygen splitting some of the oxygen in the air into ozone. Ozone does a marvelous job of removing all kinds of odors such as smoke odors, musty odors, pet odors, food odors, chemical odors, and body odors. The ozone works by oxidizing the odors. However, since ozone is an oxidizer it can be an irritant to those with asthma and lung disease if turned up to high. So if you or a family member has asthma or lung problems, ozone -ionizer air purifiers are not for you! If You'Re A Smoker They literally Do A Great Job Of fast Removing Floating Cigarette Smoke, Cigar Smoke And Odors From Indoor Environments.

Please remember that these air purifiers do not filter the air and they are not whole house air cleaners even though people often claim that they are! The Answer, What You Can Do For a Clean Indoor Environment As explained above, there is no one singular air cleaning theory that will keep your entire home or building dust or allergen free. If you have a central air conditioning or furnace theory in your home or building and you have the desire to keep it as dust and allergen free as possible, follow the four steps below for a clean and salutary indoor environment.
Keep you ducted air conditioning theory or furnace clean and setup a quality self charging electrostatic air filter or pleated air filter in the main air return or air handler unit to keep your theory clean for the future. If you desire to have your air ducts and air handler unit properly cleaned visit the National Air Duct Cleaners relationship at Nadca Dot Com  and interview some of the members in your area so you can choose the right air duct cleaning business that will best fit your needs. Purchase and place a quality Hepa air cleaner or Hepa air purifier in the most foremost areas of your home or building that need to be the most dust or allergy free. Most people place Hepa air cleaners or Hepa air purifiers in the bedrooms, family room and office area if there is one. If you have a mold problem in your living space or if you need a unit that will kill and sacrifice mold bacteria and viruses, make sure you purchase a transportable air cleaning unit that includes a non ozone producing ultra-violet light system. When choosing a transportable Hepa air cleaner or Hepa air purifier it is foremost to look for brands and models that are quiet while producing the highest air replacement rate per hour in any given sized room or area, at the lowest aftermarket filter replacement cost. We feel that the highest quality Hepa  units on the shop are made by Austin Air, Tracs and Ez Air.  If possible replace all carpeting with ceramic tile or hardwood floors. Tile is best New carpeting is loaded with toxic chemicals that will outgas for a duration of 2-3 years and old carpeting is often loaded with dust and allergens that comprise molds, bacteria, dead skin, animal dander and dust mite allergen. All of these problems are major triggers for allergies and asthma! If the carpeting must stay, Vacuum Often! Use a quality Hepa vacuum cleaner that is sealed tight so the fine dust does not blow back into your indoor environment while you are vacuuming. Sweeping ceramic tile or hardwood floors is not the best way to clean as it causes the dust and allergens to fly back into the air. Vacuuming all surfaces with a quality Hepa vacuum cleaner is the best way to go. We feel that the Airstorm Hepa vacuum cleaner is the highest quality Hepa vacuum cleaner on the market. Un-clutter your living space and keep it Clean. This is very important! Also get rid of all feather pillows and wash all of your bedding in Hot water as least once a week to limit dust and Dust Mite allergen from building up. Dust Mite allergen is very reactive to people with allergies and asthma. It must be reduced as much as possible! If you have pets, do not allow them into your bedrooms to spread their animal dander. Look at your bedrooms as a safe haven to sleep in if you are allergic to your pet dog or cat. If you do have pets and follow these four steps, you will have a much better chance of being able to keep the pets that you love and live with. It is our hope that this article will be helpful to you in creating a healthy, clean, more allergy free indoor environment for your family or workplace employees!

Electric Cars and How They Work - DIY Electric Vehicle Conversion

Many conventional car owners are fascinated by the idea of driving an electric car and they would like to know how it works. Generally, electric vehicles (EV) are quite simple. Instead of burning fossil fuel to generate force, EV uses the power of magnetic induction to produce torque from the electric motor. The more electricity flowing through the motor, the more force it will generate. Ever since the price of gasoline reached a new height, running a car has become an expensive ordeal. It is understandable that many car owners are expressing their interest on electric car. What would be the process of retrofitting a car into an EV? This article will provide some useful information on the subject.

electric smoker

If you want to modify your car to run on electricity, it would cost you upwards of 00 to get it done in professional workshop. If you really want to save money, you can actually do the conversion process yourself at home. Generally, the retrofitting process involves removing the internal combustion engine, the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines and radiator. The entire system is to be replaced with an electric motor and lead acid batteries. Imagine replacing all the components that has fluid running through it and changing it with wires connectors.

ELECTRIC

The existing drive train of the car such as the transmission, drive shafts and clutch system can still used. The electric motor will be coupled to the transmission and drawing power from the batteries. The number of batteries needed will depend on the horse power of the motor and the weight of the car.

If you do not have any knowledge on the electrical and mechanical system of a car, all these information may not make any sense to you. In this case, you can ask someone who has some car maintenance skill to assist you. To start the conversion process, you should first get a good step by step modification guide. Most good quality guides are available online.

Electric Griddle Or Stovetop Griddle?

Why would you need a griddle? There are lots of great uses for a griddle, mainly for cooking. Actually, I hope that's all you use it for, but what I mean is, you can cook lots of different things on a griddle. What can you cook with a griddle? I love to use my griddle to cook pancakes, but you could also use it to cook burgers, breaded chicken for chicken parmesean, vegetables, quesadillas, and all sorts of other great food.

electric razor

When it comes to home cooking, there are mainly two kinds of griddles. You could use a griddle that you put on your stove-top, or you could use an electric griddle that you plug in and put on the counter.

ELECTRIC

Which of these two types of griddles is better? There really isn't one that is better than the other. It all depends on your specific circumstances and what you prefer. One person might love the electric griddle while another person just can't get any use out of it. The stove-top griddle is ideal for someone who lives alone or with one other person. It can be used right on top of the griddle which makes it very convenient. It will also save you counter space if you have a small kitchen.

If you want to take up even less space but still have the cooking quality and performance of a griddle, you could choose a round griddle pan for the stove. It is round like a skillet but has no lip so you can use it like a griddle. This is especially great for someone who lives alone.

An electric griddle is great for big families. If you have more counter space but need the stove to cook other stuff, an electric griddle utilizes the counter space freeing up more burners. You can plug it in away from the stove.

There is no right or wrong griddle to use. If you still aren't sure, go to your kitchen and look around. Where do you have extra space and where can you not give up space? Choose your favorite and start cooking!

Electric Car Motors - How Do Electric Car Motors Work?

The electric car is one of the technological wonders that the century has produced. It has challenged the way we look at automobiles and been able to apply ordinary technology to give owners a new way to drive and own a vehicle. For a long time, man has relied on the internal combustion engine for all his automobile needs. This engine which runs on gasoline principally has dominated the world of automobiles until recently.

electric grill

In these few years, the trend has begun to change. Now, people are looking for electric cars. The reason is simple - they want a cheaper way to drive. No more expensive gasoline. Some also want to have a cleaner car - one that produces less smoke.

ELECTRIC

The electric car has all the parts of a regular gasoline car except one thing - it has no internal combustion engine. This means no gasoline. Instead of a gasoline engine, it rather has a motor that powers it to move. This motor is powered by asset of batteries. The batteries are powered by been arranged in a row and then their powers combined to produce enough current for the car to move. As the car moves the power is sued up. The batteries can be recharged after the car has made some miles.

Unlike conventional vehicles, the battery will not have to be recharged so frequently. It may take the car up to about 1200 miles before it needs a recharge. For city driving, this may be about a week or two.

Today, electric cars can make about 90 miles an hour; making them comparable to any mid sized sedan that you can find. With time, this speed will increase and the batteries will have a longer life.

Electric Slide Music

Basically, the electric slide music must be light on the foot, relaxing but not too slow, and happy in general. The electric dance isn't much done with very fast steps. Therefore, your electric slide music must be chosen in a way that it goes with the step and counting.

electric kettle

Although a lot of people have danced the electric with different music, there are generally 3 genres that would typically function as great electric slide music during group performance and social gatherings.

ELECTRIC

The famous example of an electric slide music is Marcia Griffith's Electric Boogie, which is reggae in nature with a bit of a pop twist to it. Although reggae has been discovered quite a long time already, a lot of music artists still love the relaxing sound of this popular genre. Bob Marley is the world's most famous reggae artist and if you've heard most of his songs then I bet you have a good idea of what reggae sounds like. Reggae is perfect for the basic electric dance steps and variations because the beat and rhythm are played in a way that it won't go too fast or too slow. It's also fun and happy to hear. Electric Boogie is one of the most famous songs accompanying electric slide.

If you prefer something more modern, you may want to go for a funky style of music. It's a bit louder than reggae and may be a bit faster as well but some funky songs will still be an appropriate electric dance accompaniment. Funk is an African-inspired type of music and includes complex grooves that give you this feeling of wanting to dance longer. Funk is nice for group dancing, pairs or even mass dancing. This is another reason why it's perfect for your electric dance moves.

Cameo's Candy is a famous electric song in the UK. The beating is somewhat similar to reggae, except for some variations and robotic rhythms. However, the music tempo and speed are almost just as fast as most reggae songs so it would be good for any electric dance steps.

Pop and RnB are the next best choices for electric dance but focus on the ones with happy beats. As you probably now, not all pop or rnb songs are considered happy. Many of them are sentimental and it would be funny to use it as you do the electric slide. It's comical! In all honesty, you are not necessarily limited to these four genres if you're looking for good electric songs. What's important is that it matches your dance steps and it maintains a happy beat. So when you choose your songs, choose wisely! Be happy!

A Guide To Electric Fireplace Logs

More and more people are turning to electric fireplaces today more than ever before. It makes sense when you consider the advantages that come with this type of fireplace. Simple installation without having to tear into interior walls or build a chimney. Easy to regulate - simply turn the unit on or off when needing heat. No wood to cut, store and bring inside whenever you want a fire. Safety - no burning embers or sparks flying out into the room. While these are certainly good advantages for having an electric fireplace, the main objection over the years has always been with an electric fireplace log. They have often times looked cheap and worthless. Well, electric fireplace logs have come a long way from those days as you will see.

electric smoker

Today, electric logs are nearly life-like in appearance and simulate an actual wood burning log. They even have the crackling sounds just like a regular log does.

ELECTRIC

Electric fireplace logs come in several different types and styles including:

Crackling Electric Logs

This type of electric log can be made out of oak or other type of wood and features a unique mechanism that turns inside the log and gives off the crackling sounds. A light bulb helps to produce the orange glow of an actual fire.

Electric Log Heater

To produce the warmth you desire in your room you will need a log heater. This unit goes underneath the logs and puts out a good amount of heat for the average room.

The log heater also contains a built-in thermostat that allows you to control the temperature at all times.

Electric Fireplace Inserts

These are great for using in an existing fireplace. You simply put the unit inside your existing fireplace and you are good to go.

Electric fireplace logs can provide the comfort and relaxation of a regular wood burning fireplace. They are portable and can enhance the décor of any room. They make for a good option if you have wanted the look and feel of a real fireplace without the hassles or the mess that comes along with them.

Electric Cars Pros and Cons

Electric cars, known for their eco-friendly features, are run using electric motors powered by electrochemical cells. As these cars use inbuilt battery packs, they are often called the Battery Electric Automobiles. Thus, they run on electricity, rather than on conventional sources of energy like petroleum and gas. These cars have become increasingly popular nowadays, when the whole world is dealing with serious global warming issues. Here are the most significant pros and cons of such electric cars.

electric bike

Pros
• As they use a clean energy source, they do not add to the environmental pollution. No toxic emissions, fumes, or smoke is released into the air when the car is run.
• They are highly energy efficient and can save nearly three times more energy than any ordinary car. Build up does not occur at all when turning them on, thus preventing unnecessary loss of energy. Similarly, maximum amount of torque can be produced by them even at zero RPM.
• Charging the electric batteries is highly cost-efficient.
• They are light in weight, safe, and compact and hence very easy to drive.

ELECTRIC

Cons
Electric energy required to run the car needs to be stored by charging the batteries well in advance. The heavy electric batteries and associated equipments are however not very user-friendly. It takes nearly twelve hours to charge the batteries completely.

Electric Scooters Vs Electric Wheelchairs

There are many types of home mobility aids that are designed in a manner to help make peoples lives easier. From adjustable beds to wheelchairs, the list of aids available to the general public is long and diverse. One of the most common and well known is the electric scooter, which is a device that is intended to make it easier for individuals with limited mobility get around. These aids are quite popular all over the world and millions of Americans use them everyday.

electric bicycle

The basic design of an electric scooter is in some ways similar to that of an electric wheelchair, but there are several differences. One of the major differences is the difference between the wheelbase of an electric power chair and that of an electric scooter. An electric scooter has either 3 or 4 wheels and is much more spread out than an electric wheelchair. Usually the seat of an electric scooter is also located more towards the rear of the device and overall they have a much larger platform.

ELECTRIC

Another difference is the positioning of the controls. A wheelchair usually uses a joystick that is mounted onto the armrests. It can be mounted on either side and there are also many types of alternate control schemes available for people who are not able to easily use a joystick.

A scooter, on the other hand, uses a tiller control system that is similar to the handlebars on a bike. The tiller is mounted onto the front of the device and can be moved closer or farther away from the scooters occupant. Generally two hands are required to safely operate a scooter, but the accelerator can be operated easily with only a single finger.

As a result of how the two devices are designed, a mobility scooter typically offers reduced mobility when compared to a wheelchair. This is not to say they are cumbersome or hard to drive, only that due to the different uses, electric wheelchairs are designed to be much more maneuverable than a mobility scooter, but they both can and are often used indoors.

Also because of how the controls are set up, a mobility scooter can not be driven directly up to a table or desk. For the most part, electric scooters are intended to be used to transport a person between two areas, then once there the person can sit in the scooter or get up if necessary.

Electric scooters can be used in many situations and are extensively used outdoors as well as indoors. If you want to do a lot of off-roading though, you should invest in a 4 wheel scooter. 4 wheels are advantageous because they are better able to distribute the weight of the rider. As a result, these scooters also usually have higher weight ratings and improved stability. The downside however is that they loose some maneuverability. For tight quarter maneuverability, such as around a living room, the 3 wheeled scooter will perform the best, but 4 wheeled scooters aren't too far behind the curve.

Generally if you are able to walk, but have difficulty a mobility scooter will probably be your best bet. These are very affordable and can usually be transported with limited difficulty.

The Best Electric Guitar Strings Period!

Changing electric guitar strings is not a hard thing to do, but deciding which kinds of strings to buy can be more confusing than you might think. Over the years I have been asked by several students "what are the best electric guitar strings?" That can be a difficult question to answer because obviously different players have different preferences. Some just stick with what they have been playing with from the beginning and some might experiment until they find a string they like. Below I will tell you what I believe to be the best electric guitar strings and the reasons why I feel that way.

electric toothbrushes

The best electric guitar strings in my opinion are GHS boomers. There is three major reasons that I have settled on them as my favorite. First of all they seem to stay in tune a lot longer than other strings I have tried. This is very important to me because many of my guitars have floating bridges. Many of the strings I have used in the past have gone out of tune on me when the whammy bar was being used heavily. No matter whether I drop tune, bend, stretch or dive the strings they rarely ever lose their pitch.

ELECTRIC

The second important factor that led me to name GHS the best electric guitar strings is their durability. Before I started using boomers I had primarily been using either Ernie Ball super slinky's and DR's. The problem was that I was breaking them all the time. Even the heavier strings would break occasionally. Maybe I was playing a little rough, but nevertheless I needed a string that could handle the abuse. The first time I used GHS I couldn't believe that I hadn't broken a string yet.

I usually change strings on a weekly or biweekly schedule depending on how much I have been playing. So I decided to leave them on for a full month to see if they would break. When they didn't break I knew they were going to be my new secret weapon.

The last thing I love about GHS boomers is they don't loose their bright new sound. If you have ever just changed one string and left the other old ones on you almost always notice how the new string just seems to sound a lot brighter then the others. All new strings have this quality no matter what brand, but some just keep their tone and sustain longer that others. The boomers definitely live up to this challenge. There's nothing like the sound of a new set of strings that you put on two weeks ago. : - )

So there you have it. The best electric guitar strings in my opinion and why I think they're so great. I encourage you to try them for yourself, but don't just settle on them because I like them. Experiment with other brands so then you'll know why they really are the best electric guitar strings.

Electric Wheel Chair Lift

Science has continuously improved man's quality of life, allowing man to be manipulate his environment in ways that allow him to achieve personal goals, appropriate health and lifestyle, and even the freedom to accomplish everyday routines. Included among these scientific breakthroughs is the electric wheelchair lift. Despite its higher cost compared to your ordinary manual lift which requires a lot of muscle power expenditure, these electric wheelchair lifts are well worth the price.

Even the disabled person confined to a wheelchair has a choice not to be confined to sit at home and just watch television all day long. Much of the enthusiasm brought about by the use of electric wheelchair lifts is from the independence and contentment these people get, allowing them to go where they want without the Herculean feat of loading a wheel chair into their vehicles. The high-quality electric wheelchair lift does 90% of the work sparing you and your family and friends the hastle of loading both you and your chair into the car or van.

ELECTRIC

Before these electric wheelchair lifts were in the market, "carting" dogs were used to take those unable to walk to the market, the doctor, to church or wherever the disabled person wished to go. Today, disabled people are no longer dependent on their pets as these state-of-the-art modern electric wheelchair lifts make it very easy for them to mobilize.

A good example of this high-quality technology is the Extreme 4X4 which is easily foldable and can be easily snapped onto the lift as an electric motor raises the chair high enough for storage in a car trunk or the back part of a van. Other examples of this technology include the Portable Wheel Chair Stage lift elevator and the Light Ramp. The Portable Wheel Chair Stage Lift Elevator is another best-seller because it can be easily switched from one car or van to another. The Light Ramp, on the other hand, can be used as electric wheelchair lift that can be adapted for vans, cars, or pickup trucks. It also doubles as a ramp for accessing steps and curbs.

In the case of heavier individuals like the obese, a special challenge would be looking for a chair large enough to hold their weight, and still lightweight enough to fit comfortably to an electric wheel chair lift. Although these lifts may cost extra money, it a reasonable amount that compromises for supporting an individual weighing up to 400 pounds.

Although electric wheelchair lifts may prove heavy on the pocket, the much improved quality of life these individuals will get from greater mobility and independence is a worthwhile expense. You can expect to pay anywhere from 0-0 for a quality lift, depending upon how you need your electric wheel chair lift to perform for you.

Electric Lawn Mowers

Electric lawn mowers are a lot more popular than you might think. Electric lawn mowers are great because they are light, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

"Does it come with someone who will do the mowing?" Not exactly, but that seems to be all that this Black & Decker MM875 Lawn Hog 12 Amp 19-Inch Electric Mulching Mower with rear bag lacks. The reliable electric start motor will not allow make enough work for you to develop a coveted "six pack" abdomen either.

ELECTRIC

Environmentalists will love these electric lawn mowers with purring motor that is soothing rather than ear splitting like power lawn mowers of the past. One reviewer mentioned that he could hear the birds singing above the low sound from his electric lawn mower. The traditional spark plug is not present with this lawn mower and neither is the need to keep an eye on gas levels for refilling at the most inconvenient places.

To bag or not to bag, that is the question! Yes, you may choose to collect lawn clippings in the bag that is included with the electric lawn mowers or to let those clippings naturally mulch and fertilize your lawn. This is both good for the environment as well as your billfold since you won't need to purchase fertilizers that may be unhealthy for humans as well as pets.

Reviews are generally quite positive regarding these electric lawn mowers. One review did state the obvious which is to always make certain that the electric cord is kept out of the way of the cutting blades or the human mower may become a crispy critter.

In many ways, the Black & Decker LM175 18-Inch 6.5 Amp Electric Mower is similar to the MM875 above. It has a slightly less wide cutting path the option of bag or no bag. This electric mower is about 30 pounds lighter that the MM875 which many make it a bit easier for older children and smaller adults to handle with ease.

One reviewer returned to the electric cord and the need to be aware of its position during mowing. This gentleman mentioned beginning at the electrical outlet and carefully working his way away from that point of origin. His additional comment was that trees, bushes, shrubs and others may entangle the electric cord and recommended increased awareness of the power cord in those situations.

What will they think of next? A flip handle, can you imagine? Yes indeed, the flip handle electric mower reduces time and energy wasted in trying to turn the mower around to cut the next row of grass. This wonderful feature is found on the Black & Decker MM675 Lawn Hog 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Mulching Mower, Flip-Handle electric mower. This feature, like the reduced weight of the LM175 makes mowing easier for older children or smaller adults who might otherwise struggle with a heavier mower that needs to be manually turned.

One reviewer commented on the ease of height adjustment of the handle. He is over 6 ft. tall and states that he has never found an electric mower that adequately adjusts to his height. Over all, reviews have been positive for all three of the electric lawn mowers previewed here. The general comments seem to be reflected in the old saying, "try one, you'll like it."

Electric RC Drift Cars - A Beginner's Guide

Electric RC drift cars are the most accessible RC cars for drifting, and the best suited for beginners. Unlike their Nitro counterparts, they are more widely available, less expensive, and easier to maintain. Also, they almost always come assembled, so that they can be used out of the box. This is not the case with Nitro RC drift cars, which often need to be assembled by the buyer.

electric bike

Models
Most electric RC drift cars use a 4WD chassis, have a 1/10 scale, and use rechargeable batteries. Theoretically, almost any RC on-road car with 4 wheel drive can be used for drifting, provided that it has suitable tires. However, there are an increasing number of manufacturers that sell RC cars specially optimized for drifting. These require little to no adjustments before usage.

ELECTRIC

These cars can have brushed or brushless motors. The latter are faster, though still relatively easy to control. New brushless models are extremely fast, the best one being capable to stand up to Nitro models. Brushless electric cars are more expensive than brushed ones, but they are well worth it.

Although any RC car can drift if equipped with drifting tires and driven skillfully, it's better to start with a model optimized for drifting if you're a beginner. There's a great variety of models available, in all price ranges. Some excellent models for a beginner include Cyclone S, Yokomo, Team Associated TC5, and Sprint 2 Drift.

Tires
Any RC touring car can be converted into a drift car if you put drift tires on it. When it comes to drift tires, you have two options: to buy them ready made, or to make them yourself. Ready made tires cost around . There are also some drift rings which you can fit over special tires, but these tend to be rather expensive. You can make your own drift tires from ABS, which is a kind of black piping hardware stores sell. Go with your electric RC drift car's rim to a hardware store and see if the piping fits it. If you have a 1/10 model, look for 51 mm ABS. With you can get about 10 feet of ABS piping, from which you can make many tires. You may also make drift tires from spray paint cans, which you fit over standard rubber tires, or electric tape, which you simply wrap around your rims.

Customization
The great thing about electric RC drift cars is that there are many parts sold by manufacturers that you can use to customize and upgrade your model. In the beginning you may want to stick to aesthetic modifications such as paint, decals, wide body kits, and LED light kits, to make your model resemble a real drift car. It's better not to do any handling or engine modifications unless you know what you're doing, as improper mods could lead to damage and possible physical harm.

Electric Violin For Beginners - Choosing an Electric Violin

An electric violin is practically like its acoustic counterpart albeit with a few differences. The first one is that almost all acoustic violins are shaped and tuned in the same way. Electric violins, on the other hand, can come in a variety of shapes and can be tuned in a number of ways. Choosing an electric violin means being more familiar with the many varieties that the instrument has. Some models even have their upper bouts removed entirely so the user can play in higher positions. Many electric violins also have a solid body just like electric guitars.

electric guitar

When choosing an electric violin, take note of its three general types:

ELECTRIC

The solid electric violins comes with a solid body that is made of Basswood. It is sculpted and can be made with an ebony fingerboard and chin rest and a maple neck. This type of electric violin can come in four or five-string variants and has steel electric strings that can produce a bright sound.

The second type is the semi-hollow electric violins. It is more lightweight because it has a hollowed out wooden body. The body is also extremely cut and, in most models, it eliminates the plain parts that are supposed to be on either side of the strings. This violin also comes in four and five-string types.

Finally, there is the fancy electric violins. The body of this instrument is made of acrylic and polymer which gives it the glass-like look. The chin rest, fingerboard and tailpiece are all made of acrylic.

When choosing an electric violin, your intended use and the design will influence your decision. It's better, for instance, to opt for a violin that has a transducer bridge to prevent feedback noise and so you can produce a more natural violin sound.

Indoor Electric Grill

A panini grill is a must have kitchen appliance for everyone. Whether you live in a house or a small apt. Why even a college dorm room is a great place for a panini maker. Not only can you make fantastic panini sandwiches with a panini grill, you can also use it as an indoor electric grill.

electric bicycle

Using a panini grill isn't limited to heating up the sandwich itself, you can also grill the ingredients before you assemble the sandwich. How about making something with grilled onions? Making sausage and pepper sandwiches? Both the sausage and the peppers can be cooked on a panini grill.

ELECTRIC

There's a few things to remember when you're using your panini press as an indoor electric grill. Number one is the grease. If you're cooking a fatty meat, it's going to create drippings. Make sure that you have something to catch the grease with. The George Foreman Grill which makes terrific panini sandwiches is slopped and comes with a dish to catch the drippings. Most well made panini grills will come with something similar.

Another important thing to remember is that you shouldn't cook raw meat with other ingredients. Say you're making a grilled chicken panini with peppers and onions. You should never have the raw chicken on the grill at the same time as the raw vegetables. Cook them separately to avoid salmonella issues. But this is a good tip not only for indoor electric grills but for anything that you're cooking on.

Some panini grills today even come with interchangeable grilling plates. If you have one like this then why not slap the flat grilling plates on there and cook up some breakfast. Eggs, bacon and pancakes can all be cooked on a flat grill. Sometimes a panini grill will even come with waffle grilling plates. Keep this in mind when choosing a panini maker.

If you're looking to save money by cutting back on expensive lunches, then you need to look into getting a panini grill. Not only does it make outstanding panini sandwiches with traditional sandwich ingredients, you can also use it as an indoor electric grill to turn your leftovers into works of art.
