You have probably seen electric wall sconces used as porch lights, but if that is all you are using them for you are missing out on a lot of great opportunities. Most of my friends homes are lit up entirely by overhead lightning. They may throw in a table lamp here and there for a little decoration, but that is usually as far as it goes. Probably one of the best advantages of installing electric wall sconces inside your home is that they are the best lighting source for illuminating dark corners. You could put overhead lights everywhere to light up your entire room, but this creates a very sterile atmosphere that is not very appealing. by using an electric sconce you will not only light up those dark corners, but you will do it with class and elegance.

Candle sconces are an attractive alternative, but they have a few flaws that make the electric sconce a better option. Candle wall sconces are an open flame that releases smoke, and they can actually stain your wall black if you are not careful. They are also a potential fire hazard if you accidentally knock them over. I'll admit they are beautiful decorations, but the potential dangers outweigh their beauty in my opinion.
On the other hand, electric wall sconces are much safer to use and they are also very durable. With electric sconces you don't have to worry about starting a fire, and they provide more light than candles do. If you enjoy the romantic mood that the flickering of candle light delivers, you can still have enjoy a very similar mood with electric sconces. All you need to do is purchase one that has a stain glass design in it, and you will be amazed by the romantic mood it can set up for you.
